Families Who Hang Out Together Stay Together

My title can be true for some families or it can be not so true for others.  I always wished that I had the perfect Family Reunion kind of family where (in my R.I.P. Rodney King voice) " Cant we all just get along!" good old time memories were created.  But even though arguments start and people just stay away I am happy to have family.  We have some laughs too and good food.

For the past two years though I have been doing more with my immediate family and a close friends family.  Since their grandmother died they have vowed ( like many families do at a funeral) to get together more often as a family.  So they do a winter event and a summer event.  And I give them mad props because for the last two years they have been doing it!!! That's where I spent this past weekend.

Time goes fast and people don't live for ever so put it on your summer list(s) to spend a little time with close family and family you don't see to often if you can. Hey through in some old friends to the mix while you're at it.  I am going to make an effort and hopefully get some photos to prove it!  It beats weeping over them in a pretty box any day!

I had a project due last week for Platinum Scraps and I used photos of last summers gathering to create it.  In case you didn't visit me over there I wanted to show it.
Thanks for dropping by!

  4. I love it, the scalloped borders and the gingham background. Very unique. My Dad will be 90 in 2 weeks. I'm hoping the family gathering will have no family feuds.........but I can't worry about that. He's my hero and he's due a tribute!

  5. great layers and of course I always give props to those who do 2 pagers...and as far as family gatherings go, folks who have families that do them are lucky; I've never been part of something like that unless it was with other friends' families!

I do love the colors of your layout and I like that you add the lime as a boarder and the set up of the photos are perfect. I can wait to see your take on my card. Please stop by with a link if you do make one. I would love to see it. TFS AJ~
