WOYWW #176

Hey guess you're coming over from Julia's to see what's going on with my desk this week!  It was so much fun hopping along to all of the desks and thanks for everyone who came over to my place also!

What is this one might ask? Well instead of scrapping I ended up going through my scrap bin and organizing the papers again by manufacturer.  What I was doing past weeks was when I completed a project just dust the left overs into a save for later bin under the desk.  But when I got in here the other day I looked through quickly and saw that I'd swept in two sets of stamps, that wasn't supposed to happen.  I spent a majority of my time doing that and putting my stamps into that new black bin you see there.

  4. Glad you found the stamp sets and they didn't get thrown away or lost! :)
Everyone is always teasing me for not "really" being messy on WOYWW. But I just can't work in a space that is too messy.
I try, but I need to be organized :)

  5. Bet you would have hunted for weeks & not found those stamps - so great that you were motivated for a big tidy up ! Sometimes just stroking nice papers is as much fun as scrapping (or is that just me !!) Have a great week Ali #48

  9. How often have I found stamps where they weren't meant to be after spending ages trying to find them ad getting upset at thought of losing them. Have found a lot of things since reorganising. Happy WOYWW Anne x#136

  10. You have a nice desk and lots of fun goodies! I know sometimes I have to stop what I'm doing though, and just reorganize! We all need craft assistants! Happy WOYWW! Sandy Leigh #11

  12. Love getting organized. Thanks for visiting my blog. Also you're the only one who knew the gloves were for pictures not for misting/painting.

  15. Hi Tamika,

When I first started buying designed papers I tore apart the sets and now I don't know what came from where. I realize now that if I ever did a detailed list of what I used to make a card I couldn't! Ah well, live and learn.

Thanks for visiting me already! I love it when you pop in.

  16. Oh it is interesting that you actually organized your scraps by manufacturer. I do that for my papers, but my scraps are just by color. I may have to think that possibility over though, as I am often looking for something in the scrap bin by manufacturer too. Happy WOYWW, and thanks for dropping by my blog.

PS I prefer wood mounted stamps because I have often swept the unmounted ones away into the trash by mistake.

  17. Hi Tamika, Yes, you are among friends, some more organized than others, but we all seem to come up with a better way to keep things in a way we can find them later. Though that doesn't always happen, as you know if you've read my blog. I do save my papers by collection. If I'm making a card, I put all the scraps back into the package of the collection. It makes re-making cards and albums much easier. I have friends with spread sheets of everything they own. I wish I could be that organized, but I am not. I am, however always working on getting my act together, then something shiny distracts me and I'm off playing and leaving organizing for a rainy day. I'm glad you found WOYWW, I love peeking in on all the other crafters just to see what everyone has ben up to. If you haven't already, you might check out Pixie's Crafty Workshop, there are girls making things from snippets and lord knows, we all have plenty of them. See you next week, I hope! Thanks for visiting my blog.

  18. Hello!

Sometimes one has to take time to organize and make things tidy! Now you can begin to create again! Wishing you a sunshine day!

  20. Nice organization. Oh I've done that too...thought I'd thrown out a nestie die and a month later when looking through my cd's of dies I found it ... stuck to the backside of the cd! Every now and then one must clean up and organize. Nan 117

  21. Hi Tamika,

Thanks for stopping by mine :) I just checked out last week too. I so agree, I have to click on the picture and have a good old proper nosey :D I've done the same with losing stuff. I've spent months looking for a mask I used to use all the time. In the end I figured I must have lost it when we moved house last year. What happens? I do a huge tidy up of my craft area and there it is in a completely random folder with a load of stickers! Glad I've found it now though :)

Have a great week, don't worry about trekking over to mine again this week as have not taken part - my desk looks exactly the same as last week, been to tired to do much!

  22. It's too easy to bin things we shouldn't especially clear stamps of small dies. I still can't find a Christmas sentiment that I last used in May and I've searched high and low for it too. I live in Michigan so I didn't get to attend the crop, wish I could have though!!

  25. Okay, that doesn't sound like fun, but it does sound like a good idea! Some of my paper is in such a jumble, though, and, frankly, so old, I don't know if I could identify it at this point!

  26. It's very easy to spend more time organising than actually creating :)
Thanks for your kind comment on my blog, sorry I am late!

  27. Yep, too easy to do when envy things flat on the desk. my scraps go plain or patterned upright in a shoe box style bin....it pretty much stops me doing the sweeping thing. My danger area is that my waste bin is under the shelf where I keep my text stamps.."pretty sure I've lost a couple that way. Argh!

  28. I'm so glad you found those before too much time went by! When I lose stuff I just have this general feeling that it's around here somewhere...as I rarely throw much out at all! lol I wish I could do some sort of swooping everything into a bin for later thing...but when I craft everything ends up out and in a pile! I have to dig for my scissors and the stamps I was just using under paper scraps and stamp blocks and ribbon and where is that stupid pair of tweezers?! lol I don't have long fingernails so I'm always looking for those tweezers. :) Hope you had a great weekend and thanks for stopping by my desk and leaving me a comment...I did respond to it. I got the new Little Yellow Bus stamps at Hobby Lobby, there is another set under the faith words, too! Maybe I'll share more of my last haul this week, since I don't see me getting much actual crafting done! lol :) Deeyll #83

  29. Ooops! That could have been expensive! You are well organised organising your scraps into companies. I am lucky if they are in colour order!
If you like using scraps why not join Pixie's Playground. We have a Roll Call every week and a virtual Treehouse too! Great silly fun and lovely peeps! You can do anything, cards, layouts, just so long as you use scraps! If you pop to my post today there are all the links to Pixie!
Thanks for visiting, it has been fun to pop over!
    xx
