This year we did attend the Boston Carnival despite a terrible death during morning J'ouvret.
We walked up the road checking out the bands and their troops. This year we tried to get our plan right we had made a stop for money before the barricades were put up. Even though my 7 year old requested to be put in a baby stroller we ditched that idea. He asked to ride his bike but in the mass of people that's impossible to do. I carried a folding chair just in case we didn't find a place to sit. In the park the food lines were long but we all got what we came for fried dough, cotton candy, ice cream, rice and peas, plantains, curried chicken,fish and goat. Everything was delicious. It was quiet in the neighborhood when we returned home which was strange. But tomorrow is work and the cleaning trucks come right behind the parade and its like nothing ever happened.
