How do you ladies out there get all of these challenges done and juggle family?
I have been wanting to enter blog sketch challenges but when I get in my scrap mood sometimes I can't stick to the task at hand. And if I am going to get anything done I have to do what comes into play. I really wanted to just complete one on time and not for the prize just to say I have done it! My entry is for Scrapping Everyday Miracles August Sketch Challenge.
Based on this sketch
I started this on a Tuesday and finished it but then family life got turned back on and I didn't have time to take a picture and upload it so I knew fo sho that I was going to miss the deadline. So I said hey I will see if I made it and if not I will blog about it. So I think I have enough time to still enter so here it is!

I too seem to have a hectic "MUM & WIFE" life, but I try to always make some time for me! (Which is usally scrapping time.. lol)
I try to get as much housework done first thing in the morning before school drop off.. Run an errands straight away (Anything I miss, waits for the next day, never dwell!!!)
Then its play time with my toddler,I do a quick tidy up when he is eating lunch, he then naps and that is when I try to get some ME time in for the day.. I am a pretty quick scrapper (however my pages are not anything amazing like your above layout!) So I can usually get one done in that time..
I have my mind set to "I am doing these challenges to complete layouts! NOT for a prize!".. So I have found that with the pressure taken off, its alot more enjoyable, and I love sharing my layouts with others, wether they are winning pages or very super simple ones!!
So never fear, you are normal!! lol

ReplyDeletethe days when I think I am going to have time to scrap, it just does not happen or I have interruptions that really throw me off and sends my mojo packing. I try to combine as many challenges as possible because I just cannot find the time to get something created for each and every challenge.
Mika you did such and awesome job on that sketch. You picked the perfect papers and even though you don't believe me the title work fits perfectly. I find something new every time I look at your layout. It is so hard finding time for our passion but when we do.....watch out der now! Good luck on your challenge.

Mika, it is the NEVER ENDING QUESTION..."why is it we never seem to get caught up?" It seems as though there is always, ALWAYS something vying for our attention, as mothers, wives, friends, we just can't seem to catch a break. You're not alone my friend. We are all there. Learning to recognize the moments we are given is a gift. Learning to maximize the time we do get alone is a treasure.
