Waiting on the BOX!

Usually I am here waiting on a box of scrappy goodness from some place but today I waited on a box from Celebrate  Express!

Tomorrow is my little boys 4th Birthday and this year I am just doing a little party at his daycare for him.  I am very excited for some strange reason.  I don't know if it's because of this cute Yo Gabba Gabba T that he will be sporting or the smile it will all bring to his face.  You see...

My son had been having some drop off and overall behavioral issues at daycare that were really fustrating us as parents.  His father usually dropped him off each morning and they had their little routine.  A few hugs too long and a good-bye.
One day his dad took a vacation day and my son found out.  So everyday my son specualted that his dad was at home and he had to be at school.   Which always resulted in him crying EVERYDAY~ "I want my daddy call him he's at home".    He was also following the bad behavior of a fellow classmate. We had really been trying to nip it in the bud and even had a pre-schooler" punishment of homework each day afterschool if the teacher had a bad report.  Things started to smooth over and not a daily crying fit and BAM!  Change of home order with dad's new job so now mom's the new drop off person.  I wasn't going to be all soft about this so I told him point blank he goes to school everyday and there is to be NO crying.  I knew his birthday was coming up and I thought to use it as a rewards point.  No tears a cool at school party celebration on your birthdayz. The first day there were a few forced tears but no big tantrum.  We made up a little handshake and a lot of assurance and he's OK!

  1. It looks like you could have used that box too to negotiate with him, it looks like he liked it as much as what was in it, lol
